Ghost Bureau was founded in 2019 by the husband and wife team of Christopher Shulgan and Chantel Guertin. Both trained journalists, they combine their years of experience working in media to create a content marketing agency that helps companies better communicate with clients and prospective customers.

CHRISTOPHER SHULGAN, Partner
Chris Shulgan is a partner at Ghost Bureau. Educated at Queen’s University and Northwestern University, Shulgan holds a Masters in Journalism. He is the author of ten books, eight of them ghostwritten for clients. He specializes in taking complex subjects and using storytelling techniques to bring the information to a wider audience. He has also produced numerous films, shorts and videos for corporate clients as well as the National Film Board, and is now the director of photography on most of Ghost Bureau’s video shoots and producer of multiple podcasts. CHANTEL GUERTIN, Partner
Chantel Guertin is a partner at Ghost Bureau, and the author of nine novels, including two Globe and Mail Instant Bestsellers in 2023: Two for the Road and It Happened One Christmas. Her books are for adults, teens and children, and have been published in multiple countries and languages. She has worked as an editor at ELLE Canada, TheKit.ca and as an on-air expert on The Marilyn Denis Show. She founded Centennial College’s Lifestyle Media – Content Creation post-graduate program, and taught writing, editing and social media management in the Book & Magazine Publishing program. ANDREW IMECS
Lead Videographer and Video Editor
Andrew Imecs is a senior video editor, videographer, and content creator with over 10 years of professional experience in filmmaking, editing, and visual storytelling. Previously the host of a YouTube channel that grew to over 35,000 subscribers, Andrew has since launched a new project called Imecs Uncharted, where he creates cinematic outdoor adventure films that blend storytelling, nature, and authentic backcountry experiences.A graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University with a degree in Fine Arts, Andrew specializes in crafting engaging video content, building audiences, and mastering the art of post-production editing. ELAINE GENEST
Project Manager/Office Manager
Elaine Genest is a bilingual writer, editor, podcast producer and newsletter producer connecting with readers across 12 countries. She writes scripts for video podcasts, brand and explainer videos, and manages social media content for multiple clients. Elaine holds a Bachelor’s in Journalism from Concordia University in Montreal, where she worked as a News Editor for The Link. DHIREN CHADHA
Videographer and Video Editor
Dhiren is a videographer/editor at Ghost Bureau, where he works on everything from explainer videos and brand films to video podcasts. With a background in cinematography, editing, motion graphics, drone work, photography, and design, he brings a thoughtful and well-rounded perspective to each stage of the creative process. He studied Visual Arts and Photography at Symbiosis International University in Pune, India, where he built a strong foundation in composition through images. Before joining Ghost Bureau, Dhiren worked in India as a jewellery and architectural photographer, and as a videographer for media companies—experiences that shaped his eye for detail and design. MEGAN FAULKNER
Staff Writer
Megan Faulkner is a writer specializing in creative nonfiction for kids. She is the author and ghostwriter of 47 children’s books, including brand partnerships with Scholastic, Disney Junior, and DreamWorks. An expert in the School Market, she blends clarity, facts, and humour to create engaging, instructional content. Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Queen’s University, a certificate in Digital Marketing Management from the University of Toronto, and a Publishing certificate from Toronto Metropolitan University. Naomi Skwarna is a National Magazine Award-winning writer with bylines in publications like Vulture, The Believer, the Globe and Mail, Hazlitt, Toronto Life, the Toronto Star, the Walrus, SSENSE, the British Journal of Photography, Real Life, The Hairpin, Literary Hub and others. As an essayist and critic, Naomi often focuses on different expressions of liveness: from theatre to craftsmanship to public space. She is the former interviews editor at Hazlitt. Outside of print and digital media, Naomi has worked extensively in marketing and copywriting with a range of brands and agencies like Baa Baazaar, CO Collections, Canada Goose, ORXSTRA, Present Day Gifts, Authorized Dealer, and Carry Corp.
